In Indore, the district administration is initiating the process to grant land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages within the municipal corporation limits. The villages were incorporated into the municipal limits in 2014. Residents who currently do not have a lease for their residential land or their heirs/transferees can now apply for a lease to obtain land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently directed this initiative during a meeting in Indore.
Currently, landowners in these 29 villages face challenges in selling their properties or obtaining loans for construction due to the lack of registration or lease documents. To address this, individuals can now apply for land holding rights based on a circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. Upon approval, they will be granted a 30-year lease, enabling them to secure loans and freely sell or transfer their property.
Camp dates have been scheduled on September 29, 2024, at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia for application submissions. Eligible applicants will receive leases under the land holding rights program after thorough verification.
Rau SDM Vinod Rathore mentioned that online applications for leases will be accepted during the camps. Applicants need to provide essential documents such as electricity and water bills, government office correspondence, 2011 census address, property tax receipts, and voter list information.
